Japan's nuclear plants are spilling highly radioactive material into the environment right now. No one can clearly predict the out come of the fall out.
While it is speculated that by the time the radio active cloud hits the eastern United States it will be below levels of serious concern, no one can say for sure to what level the exposure will be.
In addition, the USA has 104 nuclear power reactors in 31 states, operated by 30 different power companies. Fault lines are scattered around the United States. The Earth is going through a time of powerful earthquakes.
No one can predict where the next earthquake will hit or what damage it will cause.
